After bowling a 300 in the second round of match play, and a 265 in the semi-finals, Jeff Richgels went on to defeat Mike Hoffman 226 to 223 in the title match to win his 22nd MAST title. Richgels paved his way to the win with two nail biting strikes in the 8th and 9th frames, almost leaving a 7-10 split and a shaky 8-pin, respectively. Richgels earned $456 for his win and Hoffman received $228 for runner up.

Fifty two bowlers made it out for the tournament at Prairie Lanes. The Beaten Path challenge condition played similarly to a house condition with a total of 891 for four games necessary to make the top 16 and advance to match play. Rick Thomas led qualifying with a score of 978 to earn 25 bonus points. Two honor scores were bowled, Richgels' 300 and a 299 by Rob Hamilton.

Prairie Lanes sponsored the tournament by donating a portion of the lineage to the prize fund. They also donated four $10 gift certificates that were won by Don Stabenaw, Herb Kimpel, Dan Seppa, and Jeff Sweeney. A Mutant Cell bowling ball from Badger Pro Shop was won by Lauren Sammel.
