Rick Thomas continues his dominance in MAST events with his 10th career title at Bowl-A-Vard Lanes in Madison. Thomas defeated Justin Fryer 224-190 in the title match to earn the first place check of $512.00. Fryer won $216.00.

Thomas has won three of the last five MAST events, including the 2008-09 Badger Pro Shop Year End Championship. He has qualified for match play in all three events so far this season - the only tour player to do so. He also takes the early lead on the points and money earnings lists.

Trevor Yonan of Lacrosse led all qualifiers in this high scoring tournament with a 1062 block, including a 299 final game. Yonan's was one of five qualifying sets of more than 1000. Though he was defeated in the first round 237-216 by Beau Breunig, he received 25 bonus points as top qualifier.

Additional honor scores included a 300 by Thomas in the first game of qualifying, 299 by Mike Hoffman in game four, a 297 by Steve "When is a match over, exactly?" Flynn, and a 290 by Willie Feltz.

Tournament sponsors for this event were Bowl-A-Vard Lanes and Phoenix Pro Shop. Bowl-A-Vard gave the tour a reduced lineage rate and four $10.00 gift cards for the raffle. Phoenix Pro Shop donated several items, including a Track 930T bowling ball - won by Shannon Dins. Other raffle prizes from Phoenix were a Storm Management Cleaning Kit, two Storm t-shirts, and a Roto Grip polo shirt.
